How Liposomal Retinol Works

Liposomal retinol achieves deeper skin penetration through its unique delivery system that mimics and works with your skin's natural structure.

The Liposomal Advantage

Liposomes are tiny spherical vesicles made from phospholipids - the same molecules that form cell membranes. When retinol is encapsulated within these liposomes, it gains several penetration advantages over conventional retinol creams.

Enhanced Membrane Compatibility

Your skin's barrier consists of multiple layers of cells held together by lipid-rich membranes. Regular retinol in standard creams must work against this barrier, often getting trapped in the uppermost layers. Liposomal retinol, however, has phospholipid walls that are chemically similar to your skin cells' membranes. This similarity allows the liposomes to more easily merge with and pass through the skin barrier.

Protected Transport

The liposomal encapsulation protects retinol from degradation as it travels through the skin layers. Regular retinol is notoriously unstable and can break down when exposed to air, light, or the skin's natural pH. Inside liposomes, retinol remains stable and active until it reaches deeper skin layers where it's released.

Gradual Release Mechanism
