Intense restorative therapy for those individuals with very thick, dry, callused skin.
Designed for those individuals in need of advanced healing, this enzymatic therapy cream uses a unique blend of naturally occurring ingredients to gently remove unwanted callus and restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Calluses form in response to stress on the soft tissues. Our advanced enzymatic therapy cream was developed to not only restore, but calm the skin with ingredients such as calendula extract. If your skin just tends to be dry, we recommend our natural daily foot cream instead of the advanced therapy cream.
Rough Feet: Causes and Prevention
A callus or two can cause an unsightly problem when wearing sandals. Even during the colder months, a callus can make you feel embarrassed about your feet. In some cases, they can be downright painful. There are ways to prevent calluses, though.
Causes of Dry Feet, Calluses and Cracked Heels
The reason why you have calluses and dry patches on your feet — but your friend doesn't — may stem from physics. The pressure of your body weight causes friction between your feet and the ground, potentially leading to calluses. It could also be that you're not shedding keratin (a protein found in your skin) as quickly as others. People with certain health conditions, including poor circulation, are also prone to foot problems including dry skin and callused feet.
Foot Care and Callus Prevention Tips
Although you can't change how fast keratin sheds, you can take steps to reduce friction and prevent calluses in other ways. Here's how:
- Wash your feet once per day with soap and water. Dry them completely, then apply a moisturizing cream.
- Wear footwear that fits correctly. Overly tight shoes or ones that squeeze your toes create friction.
- Use foam inserts or gel pads to relieve pressure.
Proper foot care can help you prevent calluses and rough skin before they start. This is especially the case when you use a high-quality foot cream. Our Natural Foot Therapy callus cream is ideal for those with severely dry, callused or cracked skin. For a great daily moisturizer, try our Natural Daily Foot Maintenance cream.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Apply to the bottom of the feet only, making sure to target heavily callused areas
- Apply to dry, clean skin
- Avoid getting the cream between the toes
- Allow the cream to dry for a few minutes before applying socks and shoes
- Do not apply to open wounds
- (Optional) To accelerate the process, use a pumice stone gently on calluses once a week
